The VALHALLA Study
Validation of HAS-GCA Score for Giant Cell Arteritis Diagnosis

Design and Objective
VALHALLA is a international, multicenter, diagnostic cohort study. It evaluates the performance of the HAS-GCA Score as a diagnostic prediction model for giant cell arteritis (GCA). The goal is to assess if the use of this score can be sufficient to rule out GCA and help standardize diagnostic decision making in GCA.
What is the HAS-GCA Score ?
This diagnostic prediction model combines clinical assessment with arterial ultrasonography results to estimate the probability of GCA. It helps categorize patient according to their likelihood of having GCA.

Who is eligible ?
Patients over the age 50 referred for suspected new-onset GCA to our specialized clinic are considered for eligibility.
How can this study help patients ?
VALHALLA could help patients by improving the accuracy of GCA diagnosis, supporting earlier identification of disease and more appropriate treatment decisions.
